Guides
Written for the people doing the work
No gated PDFs and no lead-capture walls. These are the guides we would want if we were on the other side of the table — including the parts that are not flattering to us.
Choosing a platform
For anyone in an evaluation — what to ask, what to test, and how to move once you have decided.
Running the business
For the work that happens after the software decision: follow-up, compliance and building the firm.
Looking for the platform comparisons?
The ranked roundups and the head-to-head comparisons live separately, so a guide stays a guide rather than turning into a pitch halfway down.
Ready when you are
Looking for a walk-through we have not written?
Tell us what you are trying to do — if enough people ask, it gets written.
Guides — common questions
- Who are these guides written for?
- The people who run Canadian mortgage brokerages — principal brokers, owners and operations staff — rather than borrowers. They cover choosing and switching software, FINTRAC obligations, follow-up systems and starting a brokerage.
- Do I need to be a Mortgage360 customer to use them?
- No. They are written to be useful whatever you end up buying, including the checklists for evaluating vendors and migrating data. Several of them are actively useful for choosing a competitor properly.
- How current are they?
- Regulation and lender rules move, so treat anything about FINTRAC obligations or provincial licensing as a starting point and confirm current requirements with your regulator before relying on it.
- What is the difference between a guide and a roundup?
- A guide teaches you how to make a decision; a roundup ranks the options. Read the guide first if you are not yet sure what you should be comparing on — most bad software decisions come from comparing the wrong things confidently.
- Can you cover a topic we need?
- Ask. Most of these exist because a brokerage raised the question in a call and we could not point them at a decent answer anywhere.
